Mapping the Behaviour Economy
Horizon Scanning, Trend Analysis
Created in January 2023 for the third-year Research, Insight, Innovation course, this project scoped and mapped the changes in the emerging economic and societal context over the past 10 years (2012-2022).
The Problem
What technologies, behaviours, and trends of the past have shaped our world today, which currently emerging ones will shape the world tomorrow, and what may that world of tomorrow be composed of?
The Solution
Including both technologies and the latent behaviours these technologies have released, emerging data points were recognized, researched, and reflected in a visual map that displays the full data set of the behaviour economy and what it may emerge into in the future.
Challenges
Trying to understand the key capabilities of past technologies, see the through-line of how they have influenced the current world, and then extrapolating upon these potentialities in order to forecast future developments.
Additionally, arranging a total of 209 data points in a way which clusters related points in near proximity to each other.
